I begin this form of therapy by first listening to my clients’ needs and their story, and then identify their goals for the session. After discussing the appropriate treatment, I create an environment which is calm and relaxing.
My clients stay fully dressed while comfortably lying on a massage table. I then identify key treatment points on the body and apply light to firm pressure with my fingers to stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities. I use a two-point acupressure to balance the pulses in both points.
As I work on key pressure points, the client may already feel changes in both body and mind, such as a relief of built-up tension, a warming sensation, and a calmer, more relaxed mind. I closely check in with my clients about what they are noticing to best fine-tune the treatment and to enhance the healing process. At the end of the acupressure session, my clients usually feel more relaxed and rejuvenated - physically, emotionally and mentally.
Note: If requested, I can develop a self-care program where my clients learn how to apply pressure on certain points on their own to promote well-being in the comfort of their home. I can teach my clients SEVA acupressure which is specifically designed to relieve every day stress.
Note: Acupressure does not replace medical care for serious conditions but compliments it. That said, acupressure treatment is valuable for all sorts of conditions and can often stand on its own.
